Round Bale Collectors
The round bale collector is designed to feed a round bale wrapper. It is able to carry 6 4×4 bales of silage to a wrapper and keep up with it. The main issue with wrappers is the ability to keep bales in front of the wrapper to be wrapped. The bale collector leaves the bales in a straight row so that the wrapper can continually wrap bales in a long giving the contractor/farmer a higher output.
The round bale collector when carrying grass 5×4 round bales can carry seven bales at one time, and a major advantage of this machine is that it rotates the bales as it collects them leaving the bales with their flat spot at the top when left in a row.
The round bale collector takes about 2.5 minutes to load and around 30 seconds to unload. This machine is a simple one man operation and enables the farmer/contractor to clear a large quantity of bales of a paddock without the need for a truck and two tractors and maybe more men.
Simple and Effective Design
The machine itself is simple in design as it picks up a round bale loads it onto the machine and then pushes the bale back onto two rails. This process continues until the machine is fully loaded. Once the machine is at the area for unloading, the rails hydraulically move to each side of the machine and the bales fall down in a tight row. The bale on the front of the round bale collector is simply pushed back against the unloaded bales. With the tractor in neutral the machine and tractor move forward as the bale goes backwards and unloads.
The time that is saved with the round bale collector speaks for itself, whether feeding a silage wrapper or collecting hay bales of a paddock.
